November is National Adoption Month — a time to celebrate and more importantly to raise awareness for the children and youth in Virginia’s foster care system that are waiting to connect with an adoptive family.

Did you know that over 1,500 kids in Virginia have the goal of adoption out of foster care? The sad truth is that 1 in 3 will “age out at 18” without experiencing the comfort and support of an adoptive family.

VKB is thrilled to be partnering with Virginia’s Secretary for Health and Human Resources, Janet Kelly, Barry Farmer from the The Barry Farmer Show at 102.5 on the Audacy Radio app, WSLS-Roanoke, WTVR-Richmond, and WAVY10-Virginia Beach to highlight the children and youth waiting for families through our I Belong Project.

Resources for faith communities are also being shared to promote awareness and build community interest in becoming foster parents — the first step to adoption.
